Taiwan Indie Radar — July 16, 2026

What a Taiwan App Store snapshot can establish about small products—and why chart position, seller identity, and developer location need separate evidence.
| Product | Chart position in Taiwan | Identity evidence in the archive | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fitness Story | Free #6 | Seller Weiren Hsiao; Taiwan connection unresolved | Live source |
| 我去哪了? | Free #8 | Same seller and website; team size unresolved | Live source |
| Fog of World | Paid #5 | Ollix identified as maker | Live source |
One seller, two products in the free top ten
The July 16 edition recorded Fitness Story at number 6 and “我去哪了?” at number 8 in Taiwan’s overall free chart. Both listings named Weiren Hsiao as the seller and linked to the Masawata developer website. This supports a narrow finding: two products associated with the same seller appeared in that market’s top ten in the captured chart.
It does not establish the developer’s nationality, location, or team size. A Taiwan storefront listing describes the market. Traditional Chinese support describes localization. A personal seller name identifies an account. None of these alone proves that a product was made in Taiwan by one person.
The product connection is worth examining on its own
The archived report describes Fitness Story as presenting health and workout information from Apple devices, while the other app organizes visited places into a personal timeline. Their shared website and seller provide a more concrete connection than an inference from a name or interface language.
Recent updates were visible in the listings reviewed for that edition, but the available material did not explain the chart positions. A release, promotion, or other exposure could be relevant; the report did not establish a cause. Nor do free-chart positions provide revenue or retention figures.
A paid-chart example asks a different question
Fog of World appeared at number 5 in the paid chart in this snapshot. The edition traces its original release to 2012 and identifies Ollix as the maker. An older product appearing in the chart is a reason to examine its continuing use case, but one observation does not establish uninterrupted ranking or identify what drove that day’s position.
Keep free and paid positions separate. Number 5 in a paid chart cannot be compared directly with number 6 in a free chart as a sales, audience, or business-success ranking. Their pricing and acquisition conditions differ, and the public positions do not reveal transaction counts.
What would resolve the identity question
A first-party developer profile, an attributable interview, or a verifiable studio record could establish a Taiwan connection. Until that evidence is available, retain the unresolved label. Team size needs its own evidence even after location is known.
This page summarizes the July 16 archive. It does not report current ranks or a newly completed identity check. The original report records its Taiwan free-chart collection at 17:13 GMT+8. Its remaining questions are part of the result, not a reason to silently promote a candidate into a verified local developer.
